Session edge cases

Real matches can change unexpectedly (rain, interruptions, revised overs, unusual dismissals). This page defines exactly how the playing session behaves in those cases.

Match format changes (overs revised)

Trigger
Scheduled overs are revised after match start (e.g., overs reduced).
What we do
Total overs for the match are updated to the revised scheduled overs.
Give-away points
Remaining give-away points stay the same, but future over allocations use the updated total overs. (See Give-away distribution.)

No result / abandoned / match ends early

Trigger
Match is abandoned, declared no result, or ends unexpectedly before completion.
Settlement
The session ends immediately: (1) all Cricketer points convert to unused points, (2) unused points convert to credits.
Give-away points
Any remaining give-away points vanish at session end (not distributed). (See Give-away distribution.)

Interruptions & pause (rain, delays, breaks)

Trigger
Play is halted for any reason (rain, long interruption, delayed start).
What we do
The playing session is paused while the match is halted. When the match resumes, trading and over-based logic continue normally.
Overs revised
If the scheduled overs change due to the interruption, total overs are updated and give-away continues with the remaining pool unchanged. (See Match format changes.)

Over cancelled mid-way (partial over dismissed)

Trigger
An over starts but is dismissed/cancelled mid-way, and is not considered as a completed over (even if match continues).
What we do
That over’s payouts are not considered. All player Cricketer points revert to the values from the last completed over.
Reason
This keeps settlements deterministic: only fully completed overs affect holdings updates.

Ball status corrections (reviews / final status)

Rule
We compute using the final delivery status only.
Example
If a ball is initially shown as wide/no-ball but later corrected, only the corrected final status is used for calculations.

Wickets on illegal deliveries

Rule
Illegal deliveries (wide/no-ball) are not treated as “bowler wickets” for the wicket redistribution logic.
Where it’s defined
See delivery handling rules in Expected performance.

Dead ball

Rule
Dead balls are not considered in the playing session (no payouts, no penalties, no give-away movement).

Retired hurt & return

If a batsman retires
Their valuation stays intact and player holdings stay intact. Standard deductions still apply while they are not playing (as per the deduction slab rules).
If they return later
They continue with the same valuation and holdings (after any deductions that occurred while they were inactive).
Where deductions are defined

Substitutions / Impact Player

Rule
New players entering due to substitutions/Impact Player start at valuation 50. They are eligible for all benefits and rules like any other cricketer.

Uncovered scenarios

If an event occurs that cannot be handled fairly by the existing rules (or the data is unreliable), the organizers reserve the right to cancel the session.
If session is cancelled
We reserve the right to dismiss any points earned or held in the session and not credit anything to players. This decision may be taken to protect fairness and integrity of the game.
